If you are reading this, you've already noticed that AROC USA has
an all new website with many new features and services. Although
as of today (June 30th) , the new AROC-USA.org is still very much
under construction, we already have some exciting new services awaiting
visitors, members and our chapters.
Members and visitors now have access to online
forums where they can discuss club issues as well as events and
technical questions. Our Image galleries let you upload your own
images which can be grouped in galleries so that you can document
events, trips or projects.

"Who's
this guy?"
Disclaimer: I'm not an Alfa owner, but my girlfriend
owns an 86 Spider, does it help?
I've always been a car guy although
as an E-type owner and webmaster for the North American Jaguar
Club, I'm a little more familiar with British Racing Green
than Italian Red... But I've always had something for Alfas,
maybe from my days growing up in Europe where GTs and Berlinas,
then GTV6s where a common sight on the roads.
I rediscovered Alfas on this side of
the pond after meeting my girlfriend (we actually met because
of our cars and respective clubs) and started helping her
out with her club events. In January, I visited the AROC website
to see how we could get our upcoming annual South Florida
Alfa / Jaguar show posted and saw the request for bids to
redesign the AROC USA website.
Database programing and designing website
isn't my day job (I'm a yacht captain...) but something I've
been doing for years. I try to focus on content and how to
make information easier to find rather than dazzle visitors
with flashy graphics and resource intensive special effects.
One of the goal of this new database driven AROC-USA website
is to make it easier for local chapters to promote themselves
and increase membership. The new Chapter Services section
will offer them many services by just filling out simple online
forms.
Suggestions and ideas about the site
are very welcome! Email me at

Gademer.

AROC Chapters have a number of new services right
at their fingertip including the capability to put together their
own website just by using simple online forms! No need to learn
any language or software, no need to subscribe to any service and
find a volunteer to update the chapter site. Any chapter officer
can log in and update his chapter calendar, home page, contact information.
They can even upload their articles and pictures, whether event
reports or technical articles. Club newsletters can also be uploaded
in PD. format.
AROC-USA.org now has a fully interactive calendar
where chapters can post their own event, including flyers and a
picture... it's also fully searchable so that visitors can quickly
find events in their area.
But we need your help! In order to build content
and make AROC-USA.org even more appealing we need members and chapters
to use these new services!
